I recently visited this sushi spot, and while it might work for casual diners, it didn’t meet the expectations of a sushi aficionado. The fish quality wasn’t as fresh as I’d hoped, and the flavors were fairly lackluster. Some pieces had an off texture, which was disappointing for a sushi lover. The service was decent, and the atmosphere was okay, but not enough to make up for the food quality. Additionally, the restaurant operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you have to put your name down for a wait. Given the subpar quality, it’s definitely not worth the wait. If you’re not particularly picky about sushi, you might find it passable, but there are far better options in the area. I won’t be returning.
Had the Omakase and it was more food than I could handle. The place feels warm, unpretentious, and homey. The service was kind and welcoming.
An old famous Japanese restaurant in Castro, you usually need to wait in line to dine in. Good atmosphere but the sushi is just your average sushi. Fish doesn’t takes too fresh. We got special nigiri(left) and nigiri set(right)
