Definitely a hole in the wall that will leave your stomach delighted beyond your preconceived expectations. The service was excellent and people getting up to leave were thanking the chef for his hard work. And it’s obvious why. The speciality rolls are larger than life. And I was very satisfied with my experience.
Absolute gem of a find, and so clean. The freshest sushi I have found in Portland so far. The server was very attentive an welcoming and informative. Absolutely get your money's worth.
Incredible hole in the wall spot. Hidden gem of Raleigh hills and the best sushi around. Super friendly service that more than makes up for being slightly short staffed. Incredible fresh fish prepared expertly. Super cozy ambiance that makes for a wonderful dine-in experience. I will be coming here again, this is my new favorite spot for sushi.

We had a party of 7 people, celebrating our sons birthday. During the early stage of our dinner the power went out at our grill. We were hungry, but waited patiently as the manager and employees were trying to figure out what happened. After awhile we were moved to another table so that we could continue with our meal. By that time we were all very hungry. We had two small children with us that were hungry and tired as it was getting late. We ended up taking a large part of our meal home due to the delay. The staff were amazing, the presentation was entertaining, and the food was delicious. But our dinner began with a hot grill and ended with a fire truck. Our name and phone number were taken down by staff and we were told that we would receive compensation for the inconvenience. We spent over $300 on the food and drinks. I have left messages for the restaurant and also contacted corporate Benihanas. We have not heard back and is now been over 2 months.
It was amazing and I love how they sing if it's your birthday! The food was delicious. Also I got the Watermelon Margarita Bucket for a drink and it was amazing to share with my wife! Ended with their rich green tea ice cream!
Took our baby to capture their first hibachi experience and it was Fantastic! Nick was a wonderful server. He was amazing at juggling all the active tables and making time for the guests. Food was amazing, I’m forgetting the chefs name but I believe it started with a j and he had awesome arm tattoos. He was great and very kind to our almost 2 year old.

Fresh rolls, dining area offers variety of seating options much like you will find in a Japanese restaurant. Did not realize that they charge for ginger :( , even though there were two 2️⃣ pieces for two orders. Other restaurants have this as part of the meal.
Banya is a lovely little Japanese restaurant. The Atmosphere is spectacular and feels similar to the kind of small family run restaurants commonplace across Japan. The seating has a choice between Western table seating or Japanese style booth seating. The food was beautifully arranged and wonderfully delicious. The only drawback was that the sushi did take some time to prepare (appetizers come super fast though. So, order some yakitori and/or miso soup and you'll be fine!) I'll definitely be returning in the not so distant future.
Most of the food we ordered was actually good and I loved the cute decorations and atmosphere but on that note. The main issue was that it took forever to get our food and for a table of 4 we all received our orders at different times. 2 people received their order then maybe 30 minutes later one of us received part of their order then another 15-20 minutes later we received the rest of it, that was an awful experience in itself. You have to place your order with a QR code that's linked to your table # and you cannot make separate orders so it all goes onto one bill that doesn't get split at the end. This just makes it a little inconvenient for larger groups that plan on paying separately.

Japanese restaurant tucked in a strip mall with ample dining space that serves flavorful meals. Their ramen soup is tasty and sushi is as fresh as it gets. Good to try and the place won’t disappoint.
Lovely little restaurant. Authentic Japanese serving very good home cooked fare. Sashimi is fresh and flavourful. Miso soup hot and tasty. Salted broiled mackerel fillet was cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin. I’d highly recommend this place.
Our favorite izakaya style Japanese restaurant in the area! Sushi is fresh, dishes are authentic, and owners/staff are very nice and hardworking!

I randomly popped in for a solo sushi dinner and was blown away! As a solo diner, I got seated right away at the sushi bar (which felt lucky, since it sounds like there’s typically a wait) but after the dining experience, I gladly would have waited! The service was exceptional and the chef’s know what they’re doing with the sushi — everything was phenomenal —my only complaint was that I wish I had a second stomach so I could have tried more of the menu! I got a few hand rolls, spicy tuna inari (incredible) and special salmon nigiri — the sushi rice was already seasoned, so no soy sauce necessary. The quality of the fish was excellent — best I’ve had in ages. Thank you for a wonderful experience, I can’t wait to come back!
I am not gonna lie. This place is full of gems. I highly recommend the Sunshine roll (i think it’s the name), this isn’t the usual roll that you would eat at a usual sushi restaurant. The shrimp tempura in it with the combos avocado and salmon, give vibes. Even the roll in the first picture taste good. They use fresh salmon. I remember when I was ordering, they were out of salmon, and they brought out a high salmon. I can’t wait to go back.
Unrivaled quality cuts of fish. My only "complaint" is they make and deliver the sushi so fast after ordering through phone that table is overwhelmed and you eat faster than expected. My advice is to order only a few dishes at a time.

Awesome food and service! I've been coming here for years. I love how they upgraded the atmosphere and decor and their large variety of things on their menu! Like getting their ramen some days or the sushi!! This time I tried the okonomiyaki, it was very good!! Ramen was hearty and so flavorful. I have to get the black garlic one next time.
My favorite Japanese restaurant in Oregon. My boyfriend and I ordered the karaage don. The drinks are delicious as well. I recommend the calpico sodas. This time I got the yuzu calpico soda. Definitely, look no further if you’re craving Japanese food. The service is always fast!
I ordered the udon, also tried the okanomiyaki and a couple things from the nigiri section. It was so good! Totally recommend this spot

Been here several times since they opened. Always great service. Gets busy so reservations are recommended to setup at least a few days to a week in advance, especially for larger groups. Very modern crisp and trendy space but not all that big inside - extra seating on the patio, too bad they don't utilize it during the winter for extra seating even though they have heaters, would have to wrap the patio like a tent, which they don't currently do. Outdoor patio is nice in the warmer months and is covered but without walls. Reservation system has always been great, anywhere from 4-9 people, have to call for over 4, but online system is accurate and easy. Never had any issues waiting with reservation and table(s) have always been ready. Tried walk-in service, very long wait during peak dinner hours, off hours no problem. Menu is diverse and fairly unique, something for everyone, they pride themselves on serving as much sustainable food as possible without compromising quality. Sushi quality and taste has always been top notch, have tried many items with zero complaints. Nice presentation and average portion sizes. Non sushi items are excellent too, even their burgers. Plenty of parking in large shared mall, but can get very busy during peak hours. Pretty noisy as conversations and music easily reflect off the tall flat walls and windows and concrete floor. Easy access for disabled folks. Great spot, tasty eco-sourced sushi, and pleasant dining experience. ✨
Stopped in for a end of the week celebration and was treated well. Christine was a wonderful and cheerful bartender letting me know her favs and recommendations. I enjoyed my time there, the music and vibes were A1 and I look forward to going again! Thanks for the Black Sesame Brownie, definitely was icing on the week!
This place is absolutely phenomenal. Super interesting and innovative food mixed with fresh and delicious classics. The garden of eden roll is probably one of the most spectacular things I've ever eaten. The staff has always been so friendly and chill. The vibes are immaculate and I highly recommend checking them out.

This place has some of the best Japanese food I've had outside Japan. Everything was fresh and tasty. Prices are great for the quality. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is relaxing. It wasn't quiet, but it wasn't so loud that we couldn't use normal conversation volume to talk. My only problem was trying to decide what of my many options to get. Even my 6 year old had plenty of things off the kids menu and appetizer menu she wanted to try. Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu.
When you sign up, they offer a complimentary item on Saturdays, and today's complimentary item was salmon collar. I love their salmon and ikura (salmon roe) bowl and used to order it for takeout often during the COVID pandemic. This time, we got two dinner bento boxes. The bento lets you choose two items, so my husband chose bulgogi and mixed tempura, while I went with salmon teriyaki and sashimi. Japanese food is often pricey with small portions, but here, the prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the taste is authentically Japanese. We'll definitely be coming back to try more!
I was really impressed with the range of authentic Japanese food on the menu. The teriyaki in the bento box could be improved. Chicken needs to be charred a bit to be more flavorful. Sushi combo plate was really good. It had a great variety of items in good amounts. Calamari needs to be fried. I think it was boiled, which made it rubbery and tasteless. All in all it was a good dining experience. It is a great place for the family and the kids. I plan to visit again to try the yakitori!

What a gem! We truly enjoyed our lunch at NOA. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and attentive. We tried a variety of dishes and everything was delicious! From their lovely selection of dinnerware down to their choice of garnish, you can tell that a lot of love and thought went into every dish.
The best high quality sushi I've ever had!! The service is amazing, everyone is so kind and patient and the food is phenomenal. The takoyaki is like none I've ever had, perfect crunchy outside and gooey middle. Definitely a bit more on the higher end price wise but worth every penny and I'd go every day if I could! I dream of their poke... ❤️
I visited this place for lunch and had an amazing experience. The bento lunch specials were really great. I especially appreciated that they had spicy tuna roll as an option at no extra charge. Many places include a California roll and charge extra to swap it out, so this was great to see. The tonkatsu was great as well, crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. I do have to say, the portions were a bit on the small side, wish it was a bit larger. The tempura was crisp and perfectly fried, and the bento also came with two pieces of gyoza, miso soup, and rice, making it a well-rounded meal. Service was prompt and friendly, even though the restaurant was quite busy. Glad we were able to find a really nice lunch spot. I’ll definitely be coming back more often and look forward to trying their sushi and rolls next time!

Wow, why didn't I know about this place. I could smell the Japanese spices as soon as I stepped into the restaurant. Reminded me of my grandmother house. This place was packed. The lunch prices are unbelievable. I had the bento box. I watched the food come out for others, and wow, looked delicious. This is the best kept secret in the area.
Very non-descript place in a strip mall, but the food and service were excellent. As we perused the menu and tried to decide what the three of us wanted to order and possibly share, we saw the bento boxes that included a little of everything and for such a good price. The box A which I ordered had chicken teriyaki, tonkatsu, tempura, sushi rolls, and sashimi, plus a starter of miso soup, salad, and sunomono. We saw the folks around us and their various orders all looked like very generous portion sizes as well.
The sushi is great and is priced very reasonably. I usually sit at the bar and the Itamae checks in with me often. The complimentary green tea is surprisingly good too.

Seriously, the best I have ever had in my life, & absolutely reasonably priced for what you get. It’s fresh, high quality, and everything you could ever want in sushi. They have hot food which also looks fabulous, but we have yet to get past the sushi & sashimi because it’s just that good. The wait staff is lovely, quick, attentive & efficient. We drive 40 minutes just one way to treat ourselves every once in awhile, they truly ruined all other sushi for us. If you want to be impressed and/or impress your date, give it a try!
Would recommend the tangy tang (so refreshing) and PDX rolls! Sushi absolutely melts in your mouth, and came fast! So well prepared and quality ingredients, as well as interesting options. Other tables did tastings that looked beautiful!!! We did have to wait for about an hour, so plan ahead.
I recently threw a milestone birthday party for my husband, and ordered platters from Koya Sushi, and I'm so glad that I did! Our guests absolutely loved the quality and freshness of all of their sushi, which included sashimi, nigiri and specialty rolls. We were also pleased with the surprise that they also included miso soup with our order. It was a lovely display of food, prepared by the most friendly people!

It was very much overpriced. It’s $3.95 per plate and most of the plates, there’s only 2 pieces of sushi. The most I’ve seen was the basic california roll with had 3 pieces. We came for the experience not for the food. For 4 people, our bill was $145. We had 22 plates, 2 ramen and 2 plates (the tempura vegetable plate). Good chance we won’t go back.
There were a lot of items missing on the menu or not available. The quality of the food i would say hit and miss. One roll can be different by who prepare it. If I order a Uni roll, the amount of Uni will be less than my friend order 3 mins later. It is not consistent, but overall, it is a good experience. I would come back, but not as much cause I feel like some of the dishes are a bit over price for conveyor belt type sushi. All the hype was for me to go out and experience it for myself. Everyone have their own experience and opinions.
This is a welcome change for the typical revolving sushi restaurants in Beaverton. We almost felt like we were in Japan. To begin with, a server trains you on how to order and how to grab the plate. The robot brings drinks to the table and if you order food from the menu it shows up on the top tier of the conveyor belt. Fun! The only downside is that it is too easy to spend a lot of money here because the plates are small and tasty.
