Went to Umi for our anniversary, amazed to say that atmosphere was dark and ominous. Bit on the smaller side, but just makes your date or with friends more intimate and enjoyable. Food was outstanding, drinks were amazing. Fabulous way to end the night and celebrate our 6yrs!
Decent. Been 7 years since we've dined here. Very nice date spot, and atmosphere is very trendy and moody. But they put sugar on their scallop tataki and chutoro starters. At that point, it's just overpowering and ruins the taste of the seafood. Many dishes are accented with Serrano pepper slices, which makes an interesting taste but wish they would diversify. The specialty nigiri fall into two overall categories: seared or non-seared. If it's non-seared, you can probably expect a topping of caviar. But caviar is a strong taste and just blends all the various clfish choices to be honest. If you have to choose, get the hamachi caviar or seared yellowtail nigiri. As far as sushi rolls.. we thought the typhoon roll was good. But the spiciness can be overpowering for the overall flavors. The futomaki roll was unfortunately not made that well, with the seaweed falling apart, unraveling the roll. It's okay, we were able to just squeeze it back together. Cocktail wise, the momo no ki was great with it's tea infused whiskey. Kyodai was like a Japanese spin on margarita, but would probably skip next time. Perhaps another time we might try the more traditional nigiri rolls. I thought the seared speciality nigiri was a standout, so do recommend that. Id come back, but I think places like Eight Sushi Lounge and Fudo are now higher than Umi. Though, Umi stands out in its atmosphere, and perfect for special occasions.
I recently dined at Umi Restaurant, and it truly deserves a 5-star rating. This upscale establishment offers a refined atmosphere, and I loved being surrounded by other elegant and sophisticated diners. I enjoyed a glass of champagne and white wine, both of which were delightful. While I tried a variety of rolls, the lobster appetizer stole the show—it was incredibly tasty! The vibe and ambiance were perfect, making it an ideal spot for an upscale date night. Despite its luxurious feel, the restaurant remains cozy with its low, intimate lighting. Overall, an amazing experience!

The atmosphere is very nice. I went in the evening on a Sunday (around 6-7pm) and it was a little dim. There was a pretty decent crowd but there was no wait for my party of 2. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating. We chose indoor cause it was pretty cold outside. The outdoor seating was covered and heated I believe. The service was great! I can’t remember my servers name but he was very nice and very knowledgeable of the menu. We started with lychee martinis and they were delicious! Also started with the eggs Benedict and it was tasty! We also had the island breeze sushi roll, the Monroe tuna, and the dynasty roll. This is not the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life, but it definitely satisfied my sushi craving and the service made up for it. I would definitely visit again and try other options.
Great service and atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious, some dishes better than others. Green beans fries was the best dish of the night, served with a delicious creamy sauce. Close second was the sea bass, perfectly cooked, served with a crispy rice cake and veggies. We had the explosion roll, the eel, soup and salad...all good, but nothing special. Gyoza were very good, light and flavorful with a nice sauce. Dessert looks great, the bread pudding was very good, don't bother with the cheesecake and apple pie, they were just ok. Drinks were excellent!
Five-Star Experience at Eight Sushi Eight Sushi is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the chill and laid-back atmosphere makes you feel at ease. Whether you're there for a casual night out or a special occasion, the ambiance is perfect for relaxing and enjoying good company. The service is top-notch, and I have to give a special shout-out to Chris, who was our server. His attentiveness and genuine passion for the menu made our dining experience even better. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the sushi offerings and provided great recommendations. Now, onto the sushi itself—spectacular! The freshness of the fish is undeniable, and the rolls are crafted with precision and creativity. Every bite was a burst of flavor. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or just dipping your toes into it, Eight Sushi will leave you thoroughly impressed. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an unforgettable sushi experience in a laid-back and welcoming environment.

The Garden Room is such a beautiful restaurant. I came here to celebrate one of my friend’s birthday and enjoyed it so much. The food was really good as well. I will definitely visit again.
I had the pleasure of enjoying a spectacular Thanksgiving brunch at The Garden Room, and it was nothing short of magical. This enchanting restaurant, located in Buckhead within the St. Regis Hotel, is renowned for its lush, garden-inspired decor—a stunning greenhouse adorned with hanging vines and vibrant greenery that creates a fairytale-like setting. It’s the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience. Chef Freddy Money curated a 5-course prix fixe menu for Thanksgiving, reimagining traditional dishes with innovative flavors and stunning presentation. One of the standout dishes was the Green Eggs & Ham, featuring parsley, morels, and white truffle—a beautifully balanced and indulgent creation. Each course was artfully prepared, showcasing the chef’s culinary expertise and attention to detail. While the entire menu was exceptional, the service truly elevated the experience. A personal highlight was the La Vie en Rose dessert, which wasn’t part of the set menu, but the team went out of their way to accommodate our request. It was as delicious as it was visually stunning—a true treat to end the meal. At the end, we were surprised with a thoughtful Turkey Sandwich gift box, provided for all prix fixe guests. This elegant and generous gesture left a lasting impression and perfectly capped off the meal. The Garden Room also excels with its creative cocktails, such as the Not So French 76 and Love Potion #9, making it an ideal spot for celebrations or indulgent nights out. Whether you’re coming for brunch, dinner, or cocktails, this place delivers on all fronts with its exceptional food, impeccable service, and breathtaking ambiance. I highly recommend The Garden Room for any special occasion or simply a memorable meal with friends and family. It’s truly one of the most beautiful and unique dining experiences in Atlanta. I can’t wait to return!
Lovely environment - the decor was exceptional - but slow service and mid food (even the lobster mac was disappointingly mild and needed more seasoning). The focaccia was good, though. I recommend going for a drink and photos and then going to either Chops or Atlas for dinner.

First of all, the rolls are huge and the service was great! I can’t stress enough how generous their rolls are. My husband and I can usually eat 5-6 rolls and we only made it through 2 - 2.5 rolls total. The Hot Wok Tiger shrimp is a unique appetizer and it was amazing! Definitely a must try! Parking was super easy and they validated our ticket. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
Really amazing sushi and phenomenal service. The place was moderately busy with only one server, and she did a stellar job keeping up and being incredibly friendly. Great experience all around. Parking sucks, but that's true for a lot of places in ATL.
Always a fan of the Super Power Builder! Our waitress recommended this dish because this has a lot of fish, and this is now our go-to order. Easily feeds a hungry party of 2! They also validate parking, which is another plus!

The fresh yellowtail was spot on and had a nice kick—I love when they add jalapeno for that extra spice! The eel roll was seriously one of the best I’ve had. The Salmon Spicy Tuna roll, though, was a letdown—I've had better ones for a lower price. Definitely grab a drink while you’re there, it's a must. Our servers were super nice and respectful, but since it was a busy Friday night, they were a bit slow to check in on us. The vibe overall is awesome—perfect for a date night or a fun hangout with friends!
Wow! MF Sushi was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The atmosphere, sushi, and service were all outstanding. Comfortable seating, fun music and delightful interior design created an elegant and inviting, modern vibe. The noise level was not bad at all, making it easily conducive for conversation. The sushi was absolutely top notch. Some highlights were the Ankimo, Shima-aji, hotate nigiri, and an ika and uni combo that was nicely balanced and as to highlight each element perfectly. Watching The Chef, Masa, was a show in itself. He took such care with every detail of each piece he created preparing each bite perfectly. Watching him put every ounce of his energy into his craft was humbling. I can’t imagine having a better server than Olivia. She was so warm and friendly that I immediately felt like family. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and honest; she was an absolute delight. Oh! I should also recommend pairing the Wing of Japan saki. Incredible.
The sushi here was not something I would rave about compared to other restaurants in Atlanta. But, it was very good. I don’t care for the seating availability in the restaurant.. if you don’t reserve seats you’ll be sitting at the bar. Other than that, the service was good and the food was great! But not my favorite

I had a wonderful experience dining in for the first time after work. From the Host to my server everyone was pleasant and my food was delicious. A wonderful manager by the name of Raquel stopped by my table and suggested a pumpkin Margarita it was delicious .I had such a wonderful experience. I’m going back for my birthday.
If you came here looking for a bad review, here’s a scathing one I really hope gets the point across. Our experience at Benihana was beyond frustrating. We waited over an hour and a half just for a cook to come to our table, and when he finally arrived, the grill hadn’t even been turned on—so we had to wait even longer. To make matters worse, the cook was incredibly rude, making inappropriate comments and even cussing during the meal. It was completely unprofessional and made for an uncomfortable dining experience. When a woman at our table asked the cook what could be done about the wait, as in giving us a discount or more food, he said “what do you want me to do about it?” The atmosphere was just as bad. The music was blaring so loud that we could barely have a conversation. After asking staff to turn it down, they briefly lowered the volume—only to crank it right back up. As for the food? It was okay, but after waiting nearly two hours and dealing with terrible service, it was nowhere near worth it. There are other hibachi restaurants that offer better service and food without the ridiculous wait. As an out of town diner who often comes to Atlanta, I won’t be coming back. Also, we had a show to see at the theater at 7:30 and we got to the restaurant at 5… we wanted to run an errand beforehand but didn’t have time because we left the restaurant at 6:45. Disgusted. Annoyed. Bitter.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Benihana. The wait times were unbelievably long, even after we were finally seated. I expected things to move more efficiently once we had a table, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. We sat there for what felt like forever before anyone even came to take our order, and the service throughout the meal remained slow and inattentive. Considering this was my first time dining at Benihana, I had high expectations, but the frustrating delays really ruined the experience. I was hoping for an enjoyable meal with prompt service, but instead, I left feeling very dissatisfied. Definitely not the kind of first impression I was expecting. I would not recommend you eat here unless you have 5 hours to sit and wait, for the food to be unseasoned. This is unpaid, real and raw, i just want people to know what they getting into because i should’ve read the reviews first

For fans of fiction, passionate bookworms, and anime lovers alike, this restaurant is nothing short of a dream come to life. Imagine stepping into a scene ripped straight from your favorite anime—the kind where vibrant food glows with life and energy. From the moment I crossed the threshold, I felt like I’d been transported into the heart of an anime like Naruto. The ambiance, the details, the aromas—it all came together in a way that felt surreal. As I entered, the first thing that struck me was the smell. It wasn’t just food—it was an invitation. The rich, layered aromas danced in the air, wrapping around me and guiding me toward my seat as if I were under a delicious spell. The décor was equally captivating. The walls were a tapestry of nostalgia, adorned with signed memorabilia, iconic images, and collectibles displayed in pristine glass cases. Everywhere you looked, there was something to marvel at—pieces of culture that told stories of the past while celebrating the present. The restaurant also boasts a fully stocked bar, blending American classics with Japanese staples. Whether you’re into cocktails, sake, or just trying something new, the bar offers a little of everything. Even as someone who doesn’t drink often, I could appreciate the variety and the artistry behind the offerings. I wasn’t alone on this adventure—I brought along a group of friends and my girlfriend. As it was our first visit, we collectively decided to go big and order a little bit of everything. Our table soon became a smorgasbord of incredible dishes: Rainbow Roll Sushi, Tonkatsu, Takoyaki, Taiyaki, Tempura Green Tea Ice Cream, Tonkotsu Ramen, and Chicken Karaage. Each dish was a masterpiece, crafted with precision and bursting with flavor. I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of seafood, so there was one dish I didn’t enjoy as much as the others. However, I could tell it was impeccably fresh and skillfully prepared. For anyone who loves seafood, this place would be absolute heaven. The other dishes, especially the fried items, were phenomenal. Everything was fried to golden perfection—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and never overly greasy. The Green Tea Tempura Ice Cream was the star of the show, a perfect blend of creamy sweetness and delicate green tea flavor that left me craving more. The service here deserves a spotlight of its own. Every staff member exuded warmth and attentiveness. Even those not assigned to our table would stop by to ask if we needed anything or to check if we were enjoying ourselves. Their camaraderie and teamwork were inspiring—it was clear they took pride in their work and genuinely cared about every guest’s experience. The restaurant was buzzing with activity, yet the energy was uplifting rather than chaotic. Thanks to our online reservation, we were seated quickly despite the packed house. It’s no wonder this place draws such a crowd—it’s a sensory overload in the best possible way. What truly stood out to me was how this place managed to exceed expectations in every way imaginable. It’s rare to find a restaurant that nails every detail, from food to atmosphere to service, but this one did it effortlessly. It set a new standard for what dining should be: not just a meal but an immersive experience that engages all the senses. If you’re an anime fan, a lover of rich flavors, or someone who simply appreciates excellent service and vibrant culture, you owe it to yourself to visit this place. And even if anime isn’t your thing, don’t let that stop you—the food alone is worth the trip. Don’t just walk here—run, fly, teleport if you have to. This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an adventure. One I’d gladly embark on again and again, a million times over.
This is slowly becoming our go-to dinner spot. Such a wide variety of food available, and none of it has missed. Definitely get the mixed 8 skewers (I opt for teriyaki) so you get to try an assortment of grilled proteins and veg. Chirashi and sushi are all fresh and delicious. Miso and Tonkotsu ramen are both bangers. Agedashi tofu was fantastic. If you have picky or indecisive eaters to go out with, or if you respect yourself (or even if you don't!) just go here and be at peace.
Very cozy place where you can comfortably seat in booths or at the bar with friends or family. The vibe makes you feel like being in Japan. The menu is characterized by wide selection of small size home-style dishes. Everything we ordered were fresh and good.

Wow! Everything about our experience here was spectacular. The food was all so fresh! We loved trying the signature nigiri. Our server, Richard, recommended us the Hisoyaki and the Black Magic, which were both delicious and not something we would have ordered ourselves without the guidance. Richard was also great at recommending a sake to us. Thank you!
The food was mid. Was definitely expecting more for the price. Service was terrible. We waited 45mins for our food(each round), we ordered in 2 rounds. The photos attached are only half of our order. Although, our waiter and the manager apologized for our long wait. They only offered a complimentary drink, our bill was $164. This was our first time @O-ku and it will be my last.
My husband and I had a great time at O-Ku! We came to Atlanta(first time) for a couple days as part of our honeymoon. I’m so glad we decided to eat here!! Our main server was Tiffany and she was so sweet and helpful. Julian helped us make some decisions on drinks as well. The food may be a little pricey, but the quality and portions are so worth their price. They also asked about allergies which we really appreciated since my husband has a shellfish allergy. They truly show great care for their customers and to make our night extra special they gave us a complementary dessert. We could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you to the folks at O-Ku, y’all are wonderful.

I have loved Nakato for years. It’s my favorite Japanese restaurant in Atlanta. Food is always fresh and delicious. Service is outstanding. Love that they bring you a warm towelette to wipe your hands. They have free valet parking. Highly recommended for sushi and hibachi.
If you're looking for a fun and flavorful dining experience, Nakato is the place to be! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is lively, with the sizzle of grills and the rhythmic clang of spatulas setting the stage for an entertaining meal. The chefs here are true performers, putting on an exciting show while expertly preparing your meal right at the table. Expect fire tricks, knife juggling, and, of course, the famous onion volcano. Beyond the theatrics, the food is top-notch—perfectly grilled steak, chicken, and seafood, all infused with bold hibachi flavors. The fried rice is a standout, and the sauces add just the right amount of tang and sweetness. Service is prompt and friendly, making sure drinks stay full and special requests are met with a smile. Whether you'recelebrating a birthday, going on a date, or just craving a delicious and interactive meal, NakatoI is a fantastic choice.
A group of us went to Nakato’s Saturday night and I can say that we were all well pleased with each aspect of the restaurant. Beautifully maintained facilities that catches the eye when you walk in. Very friendly hostess that seems genuine in making sure their customers would have an outstanding experience with them. We had reservations so, waiting for a seat at the hibachi was no issue, in fact we had to wait a few minutes for a couple in our group. Our waiter was exceptional in taking care of the seven of us. Another gentleman came out who appeared to the in management to make sure everything was good. When the chef came out, he did the squirt bottle trick that makes you think you are having soy sauce spill on you and it was hilarious. He couldn’t have picked a better person to do it to than the one he chose! She let out a scream and stood straight up! We thought we would never stop laughing. The sushi was wonderful as well as everything else. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would have given this place a five however, I am just not a fan of business that automatically tells me that I have to pay you a fee for dining at a restaurant. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DO IT! Some people would have just left without tipping anything. I will say that my tip would have been more than the automatic service charger because of such a great experience. Keep up what you’re doing! We will return! BTW - I meant to take photos of our food but it was so good we were eating it before we even thought about it! It is valet parking and that is free!
